When AI Writes the Manuals — What Happens to Real Knowledge?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how rapidly Artificial Intelligence is being used in so many fields — tech support, education, legal work, you name it. On a radio show recently, someone said, “You don’t even need a tech manual anymore — you just ask AI your question and it answers.” It sounded exciting… but it also raised a question for me.

If there were no tech manual written by a real human with understanding, then that AI wouldn’t have much reliable input to draw from. We’re seeing more and more content created by AIs. Manuals, legal briefs, research papers — if humans stop writing the solid, foundational stuff, then future AIs will be trained mostly on content produced by other AIs. This leads to a machine‑learning model loop: AI‑built on AI‑built on AI.

What worries me is:
• Will the quality of knowledge degrade?
• Will the “truths” become more like rumors in fancy language?
• When everything from manuals to university papers is written by AI, what will the role of actual human intelligence be?

Don’t get me wrong — AI is amazing. But it works best when guided by real human insight, verified information, and critical thinking. Without that human component, we risk ending up with a world where the information is polished and fast — but lacks depth and reliability.

What do you all think?
Have you noticed AI‑generated manuals or documents that felt “off”? How important is the human touch in your line of work or in gaming (for example, guild guides, strategy write‑ups, etc.)?
Would love to hear your experiences and thoughts.
