I am studying in Toronto, but I am thinking of applying for a master's degree in Ottawa and want to go there for an open house. Budget and time are important to me because studying and working part-time do not leave much room for long trips. I also want to know if it is realistic to travel there and back in one day without staying overnight, and what is the best mode of transportation for this.

For a short round trip, it is very convenient to look up aggregated information in advance, for example on the website , where the Toronto to Ottawa route is presented in terms of time and efficiency. If you leave early in the morning by train, you can be in Ottawa by lunchtime, visit the campus at your leisure, and return to Toronto in the evening. This is especially relevant for students, as it is easy to combine study plans with minimal expenses. Buses may be even cheaper, but you should take into account possible delays. This approach allows you not just to "get there somehow," but to actually fit the trip into a busy student schedule.
