Looking for a Clean Word Counter for My Study Notes

Hey everyone! I’m a student juggling multiple classes, and lately I’ve been drowning in written assignments. The biggest struggle isn’t even the writing part — it’s checking the word count. Some professors are super strict about minimum and maximum limits, and the built-in counters in my writing apps keep giving me inconsistent numbers. One professor even marked me down because my essay was 150 words shorter than the platform claimed. Not cool.

I also write my study notes by copying chunks from lectures, summarizing them, and organizing everything into a single document. But when I try to check how long my summaries actually are, everything freezes or glitches. I just want a simple, accurate, no-drama online counter that doesn’t force registration or throw ads in my face. Ideally something that works fine both on my laptop during study sessions and on my phone when I’m revising notes on the train. If any of you have a tool that makes checking word counts less painful, I’d really appreciate a recommendation.

Hey! Been there — university writing requirements can be surprisingly strict, and inconsistent word counters definitely don’t help. I had the same problem during my thesis prep. I tried three different apps and got three different numbers, which drove me absolutely nuts. Eventually I found something lightweight and extremely accurate, and I’ve stuck with it ever since.

Give this a try wordcounter one It’s super clean, fast, and doesn’t bury you under ads or pop-ups. You literally paste your text and immediately see the exact word, character, and sentence counts. I love that it works perfectly on mobile too — I used it all the time while commuting to double-check paragraphs I had just edited. Another big advantage is that it doesn’t lag, even with longer study documents or combined notes. Honestly, it became my go-to tool for every assignment, and it saved me from more than a few grading issues.
