Another integral part of the thermal cleaning equipment system is exhaust treatment. The goal is to make sure that any contamination that occurs during the heating and vaporization of the coatings or other components can be effectively removed from the air. The heat breakdown of such materials leads to the appearance of vapors, smoke, and gases that need to be processed to meet all required norms.

One of the most popular and commonly used options for the treatment of gases is their secondary combustion. Gases leave the chamber where substances undergo cleaning and enter an afterburner. The temperature there is increased up to the point when all other organic products will be transformed into carbon dioxide and water. It helps eliminate the emission of volatile organic compounds and odor.

In order to facilitate the oxidation processes and provide proper residence time, many systems also employ temperature and airflow control mechanisms. Additionally, filters or settling chambers that stop ash from escaping might be used to remove particles.
