One of the standout advantages of edge computing is its ability to process data closer to the source. This leads to faster response times, which is especially valuable for real-time applications like IoT systems, smart devices, and on-site analytics. Edge computing also helps optimize bandwidth usage by handling data locally before sending only relevant information to the cloud.
At the same time, traditional cloud computing continues to offer strong advantages such as centralized control, flexible scaling, and seamless access to a wide range of cloud services and tools.
From my experience, combining edge computing with cloud platforms creates a powerful hybrid model that enhances both performance and efficiency.
