I’m at a point where I’m not sure throwing more money into ads makes sense anymore. Our traffic is decent, but conversion rate hasn’t really improved in months. Every time we want to grow revenue, the first instinct is to increase the ad budget, and that’s getting expensive. I’ve been thinking whether it would be smarter to bring in a team that focuses specifically on eCommerce CRO instead of just scaling traffic. Has anyone here actually hired specialists to optimize what you already have instead of spending more on ads?

We faced that exact dilemma last year. Our ad costs kept climbing, but sales growth was slower than expected. Instead of raising the budget again, we decided to analyze where we were losing potential buyers and whether optimization could unlock more value from existing traffic. I looked through several detailed project breakdowns to understand what kind of results were realistic, and you can check here to see how structured testing and data-driven changes led to measurable improvements for different stores. What stood out to me wasn’t just the numbers, but the process behind them — research, prioritization, and continuous experimentation. After we started treating CRO as an ongoing strategy rather than a one-time tweak, revenue growth felt more stable and less dependent on paid traffic spikes.

In many online businesses, scaling often begins with acquisition because it feels more straightforward. However, long-term sustainability usually depends on how efficiently existing resources are used. Refining processes internally can sometimes have a stronger impact than expanding externally. Over time, disciplined optimization tends to create more predictable performance patterns.
