Anyone here tried managed IT services for gaming setups or LAN cafés?

Hey everyone, hoping to get some thoughts from the community on this one…

I’ve been running a small local gaming café for the past year, and lately I’ve been feeling like my setup could do with a serious upgrade to keep up. I have several mid-range PCs, local LAN tournaments, and mixed crowds—casual players, streamers, etc. The lag spikes and occasional downtime are starting to hurt business and reputation.

So, I started looking into whether to invest in better hardware, or outsource some parts of the IT infrastructure. Then “managed IT services” came up in my research—companies that not only build and maintain hardware but also monitor networks, handle backups, and ensure minimal downtime. Has anyone here used managed IT services for their gaming setups, LAN cafés or even for competitive gaming teams?

A few specific questions:

  1. How much does it typically cost per month (or year) for reliable managed services in this kind of environment?
  2. Are there providers who really understand gaming-specific needs—low latency, high uptime, good routing, minimal lag?
  3. What was your experience: did using managed IT services reduce your operational headaches (power failures, network issues, hardware maintenance) significantly?
Would love to hear real stories—what worked, what didn’t—so I can decide whether hiring someone external is worth it versus trying to build everything in-house.
