Why are some modern steel building options more reliable today?

I’ve been comparing different options for my next construction project, and I’m trying to understand what actually separates one steel building manufacturer from another. Every steel building manufacturer claims to offer durability, precision engineering, and long-term structural strength, but how do we really measure this in practical terms? Are there specific certifications or benchmarks that experienced builders look for when choosing a steel building manufacturer, especially for medium-sized commercial work?

I’m also curious about quality variation. Why does one steel building manufacturer deliver consistent steel thickness and coatings, while another seems to cut corners? Is this mostly about cost, or are there deeper issues like supply chain standards, production lines, or engineering teams?

While researching, I noticed many companies outsourcing parts of production, while others including names like Xinguangzheng Solutions and it seem to handle much more in-house. Does in-house control generally lead to better outcomes, or is that just an assumption people make without real data?

Another thing: how do you judge reliability before placing a big order? Are prototype drawings, sample materials, or factory visits common practice when selecting a steel building manufacturer? And what red flags should someone watch out for?
