I am currently using Mozilla Thunderbird on a Windows system and need to move my emails to Apple Mail, which uses the EMLX file format. Thunderbird supports exporting emails to EML, but Windows does not natively support creating or opening EMLX files. I searched for options in Thunderbird and Windows, but could not find a direct way to convert Thunderbird emails to EMLX format. Installing macOS just for conversion is not practical for me.
