Hello Guardians,
I’ve been playing Destiny for a few months now and I’ve noticed something about Crucible matchmaking that seems to frustrate a lot of players. I wanted to share my thoughts and see what others think.
Balanced matches make the game more enjoyable for both casual and competitive players. They encourage newcomers to stick around and help veterans have challenging yet fair sessions.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Have you experienced unbalanced Crucible games? What changes do you think would help?
See you in the Tower, Guardians!
I’ve been playing Destiny for a few months now and I’ve noticed something about Crucible matchmaking that seems to frustrate a lot of players. I wanted to share my thoughts and see what others think.
What I’ve observed
- Sometimes matches feel unbalanced, as if one team’s overall power or experience is far higher than the other’s.
- This imbalance often leads to quick uneven games, which can be discouraging for newer players or those trying for fun.
- Even when it seems “fair on paper,” team composition (mix of experienced vs newer players, weapon variety, etc.) can strongly affect match quality.
What could help (my suggestions)
- Introduce a “skill‑range” matching option for players who want more balanced games — not just based on light level or rank.
- Allow a “party‑only” matchmaking queue: players who squad up with friends get matched mostly with other squads, reducing mismatched solo vs team games.
- Add a post-match “feedback option” where players can vote on how balanced the match felt. That data could feed into future matchmaking to improve overall fairness.
Why this matters
Balanced matches make the game more enjoyable for both casual and competitive players. They encourage newcomers to stick around and help veterans have challenging yet fair sessions.
