I’ve been jumping between a few live-service games lately (mainly looter shooters and seasonal grind-heavy titles), and I’m starting to feel burnt out way faster than I used to. At first, the progression systems and seasonal rewards feel engaging, but after a couple of weeks it starts to feel more like a checklist than actual fun.
Do you guys think this is just normal burnout from playing too many similar games, or are modern live-service mechanics (battle passes, daily/weekly challenges, FOMO events) actually designed in a way that causes this? Curious how others here deal with it—do you stick to one game long-term, take breaks between seasons, or just avoid these types of games altogether?
