Hey folks! I'm planning to build a deck in my backyard this spring. Never done this before - where do I even start? Should I hire a contractor or is this something a moderately handy DIYer can tackle?

Hey there! Great project to take on. Whether to DIY or hire depends on the complexity and your comfort level with construction. For deck building, you'll need to consider permits, foundation work, framing, and finishing. I built mine with help from Cedar Deck resources - their guides are super detailed. If you're going with a simple ground-level deck (under 30 inches), it's definitely doable as a DIY project. You'll need basic carpentry skills, the right tools (circular saw, drill, level), and patience. Start by checking local building codes and getting permits. For elevated decks or complex designs, honestly, hiring a pro might save you headaches and ensure structural integrity. Cedar Deck has contractor recommendations too if you decide to go that route. Budget at least 2-3 weekends for a basic 12x16 deck if doing it yourself.

Slope 2 is a fast-paced running game where you guide a glowing ball down unpredictable neon slopes. Your goal is to dodge obstacles, react quickly, and survive as long as possible while the speed keeps rising.
