I was facing an issue where my .msg file is not opening in Microsoft Outlook. When I double-click the file, nothing happens or Outlook shows an error, even though Outlook itself is working fine for normal emails. This issue can occur due to incorrect file association, Outlook compatibility issues, or a corrupted MSG file.
Later a lot of research, I have found the solution. To fix this first ensure Outlook is set as the default application for .msg files and try opening the file directly from Outlook using File → Open → Open Outlook Data File. Updating Outlook to the latest version may also help. If the MSG file is damaged or still not opening, you can use the SysTools MSG Converter, which allows you to convert MSG files into formats like PST, PDF, EML, or MBOX, making it easier to access the email content without errors.
