Refreshing curly braiding hair is crucial to keep it neat and long-lasting. Here's a step-by-step guide to revive your braids.
1. Ready Your Hair And Tools
Begin by collecting a spray bottle, water, leave-in conditioner, light oil (such as jojoba or argan oil), and a rat-tail comb. Remove any lint or debris from your curly braiding hair.
2. Hydrate Your Scalp And Braids
Shake the spray bottle and fill it with water, adding a few drops of leave-in conditioner. Give your scalp and braids a light mist, targeting dry spots. Do not overdo it, as frizz or mildew will be created by too much moisture. Top off with a few drops of oil on your scalp to seal in moisture and alleviate itchiness.
3. Seal The Moisture
Following dampening your braids, lightly apply a lightweight oil or braid spray to the length of each braid. This serves to replenish shine and softness as well as repel frizz.
4. Tidy Up The Edges
Smooth out any frizzy edges or flyaways using a rat-tail comb. You can also use a small amount of edge control gel to groom out-of-place hairs near the hairline.
5. Spot-Check And Repeat
Check your braids every day for frizz or dryness. Refresh them every 2-3 days to maintain their bright, healthy appearance.
Follow these steps, and your curly braids will remain fresh, hydrated, and fashion-forward for a longer period.
