Does anyone actually use a certified workshop for their Mercedes here?

I've been taking my Mercedes to the main dealer since I bought it, but the costs are really starting to add up. I'm considering a well known independent garage, but I'm worried about the quality and whether they'll have the right expertise. Before I make a decision, I've been trying to find a good certified workshop maintenance guide online to understand what the official standards actually are for something like a Service B. I found an article about Mercedes service times that explained what authorized centers do differently, like using specialized diagnostic tools and following factory procedures. It made me realize that a "certified" status probably means more than just having a Mercedes sign. For those of you who use independents, how do you verify they meet the same standards as an authorized shop, especially for the complex electronic work?
