I recently came across discussions about fenbendazole, a common deworming medication for animals, being studied for potential anti-cancer effects. Some articles and anecdotal reports suggest it may inhibit cancer cell growth, but I’m struggling to find reliable, peer-reviewed studies.

Has anyone here read the original research or clinical trials on fenbendazole’s effects on cancer? I’m particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms proposed, dosage considerations, and whether there’s any legitimate human data beyond animal studies.

Hi! Most research on fenbendazole and cancer is still preclinical, done in cell cultures or animals. Studies suggest it may disrupt microtubules in cancer cells and affect cancer metabolism, similar to some chemotherapy drugs. If you search for fenbendazole cancer study, you’ll find several experimental papers showing these effects, but there are no rigorous human clinical trials, so its safety, dosage, and effectiveness in people remain unproven. Anecdotal reports online exist, but they aren’t reliable evidence. Bottom line: it’s interesting in theory, but not established or recommended for human use.
