Hey everyone,

I'm looking to invest in a tortilla machine for home use and would love some recommendations. I'm primarily interested in making corn tortillas, but it would be great if the machine could also handle flour.

I've seen a few electric and manual options online, but I'm not sure which brands or features are worth paying for. Durability, ease of use, and tortilla quality are my top priorities. Has anyone here used a tortilla machine they’d recommend?

Are electric machines worth the extra cost for small batches?

Appreciate any insight or tips you can share!

Hey! I’ve been down this road recently, so happy to share what I’ve learned.

For corn tortillas, manual tortilla presses (like the Victoria or Doña Rosa cast iron ones) work great. They’re affordable, durable, and give you full control. Just press the masa and cook on a hot comal or cast iron skillet. Super easy once you get the hang of it.

While researching, I found some helpful comparisons and options on https://tortillamakermachine.com/—worth checking out if you’re exploring different models.

For flour tortillas, things get trickier. Most manual presses don’t flatten them thin enough, and the dough can be stickier. If you're doing both corn and flour regularly, an electric tortilla maker/press combo like the Tortilla Master or Brentwood TS-129 might be worth it. They press and cook at the same time, saving effort, but they take up counter space and can be overkill for small batches.

If you’re mostly doing small batches and enjoy the process, stick with a manual press and cook them yourself. It's more traditional and honestly a bit fun.

Yes, it's highly recommended especially if you're looking a manufacturer from China.
