Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on generator maintenance and want to ensure my equipment runs efficiently and reliably. How often should I perform routine checks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery inspections? Are there any specific tips for preventing long-term wear and tear, especially if the generator is used intermittently?

Also, what are the signs that indicate more serious mechanical issues that require professional servicing? Any recommended maintenance schedules, tools, or checklists would be extremely helpful. I’d love to hear from those with hands-on experience.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

For routine generator maintenance, change the oil every 50–100 hours or annually, check and replace air filters every 6–12 months, inspect the battery monthly, and use fuel stabilizer if the generator sits unused. Run it under load periodically to prevent wear, and listen for unusual noises, smoke, or trouble starting, as these indicate that professional gen maintenance may be required. Keeping a simple checklist of these tasks helps ensure reliability and longevity.
