Hey everyone, I’m running a small Minecraft server for 10-15 friends, but our current host lags a lot and crashes when we add mods. I’m looking for a reliable hosting service that’s good for a survival server with mods, decent performance, and won’t break the bank (maybe $10-20/month?). What do you recommend for specs like RAM or CPU, and is DDoS protection a must? Any providers you’ve had good experiences with? Thanks!

For a small modded server with 10–15 friends, I’d recommend at least 4–6GB of RAM and a decent CPU with good single-core performance. DDoS protection is definitely useful to avoid unexpected downtime. You can find lots of real user experiences in this mc server hosting Reddit thread. Many people suggest budget-friendly hosts like PebbleHost or Apex Hosting, which balance performance, mod support, and price. Always check reviews for uptime and customer support before committing.

Good advice! I’ve hosted a 12-player modded server on PebbleHost with 6GB RAM, and it ran smoothly. DDoS protection really helps keep things stable during peak hours.

Totally agree about checking reviews first — uptime and support can vary a lot. Apex Hosting’s slightly pricier, but their performance and easy setup make it worth it.
