SAN FRANCISCO — AviaGames, an award-winning mobile game developer, is collaborating with Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering and its Product Lab on a research initiative exploring how mobile skill-based games may support cognitive engagement and healthy aging.
The study focuses on player trends and behaviors in Solitaire Clash, one of AviaGames’ most popular titles. Researchers will examine how structured gameplay may encourage sustained attention, decision-making, motivation, and social interaction among older players. As mobile games become an increasingly common source of entertainment and mental stimulation, the research aims to better understand how thoughtfully designed digital play may contribute to discussions about aging and cognitive health.
Through May 2026, a Duke Product Lab engineering student team will conduct interviews and analyze gameplay patterns among Solitaire Clash players to gain deeper insights into player perspectives.
According to CEO Vickie Chen, the collaboration helps AviaGames learn more about its player community while supporting research-driven conversations around the potential benefits of interactive mobile experiences.
