Evergreens can work well in containers, especially when space is limited, but the pot size and winter care really matter. I’ve seen roots struggle when containers are too small or left unprotected during cold months. In Gardening In Seacoast NH, using sturdy pots and adding mulch around them helped evergreens stay healthy through winter. Regular watering, even in colder weather, also made a noticeable difference.
