Are Bali villa investments really profitable or just hype?

Hi everyone. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and videos lately about investing in villas in Bali, and honestly it sounds very attractive. Many people claim that you can buy a modern villa and earn passive income from short-term rentals because tourism there is constantly growing. At the same time, I also read some comments saying that the market is becoming crowded and that you need to choose the location and developer very carefully. I’m not planning to move permanently, but I travel to Southeast Asia quite often, so the idea of owning a small property there sounds interesting. Ideally something that could be rented out when I’m not using it. My biggest concern is where to start researching. There are hundreds of websites and agencies, but it’s hard to understand which ones are actually reliable and focused on Bali investments. Has anyone here already explored this seriously? Maybe you can recommend a platform where I can learn about real villa projects and investment opportunities?

I had the same curiosity about a year ago when I started looking into international property investments. Bali immediately caught my attention because tourism there is incredibly strong and villas are one of the most popular types of accommodation for travelers. Many tourists prefer private villas instead of hotels, which creates solid demand for short-term rentals. While researching, I discovered Horizon Estate and it actually helped me understand the Bali property market much better. Their website focuses specifically on real estate projects in Bali, especially modern villas designed for investors and lifestyle buyers. What I found useful is that they present projects in a structured way, showing the concept of the villas, locations and potential benefits of investing in these developments. Instead of random listings, the platform highlights carefully designed properties that match current tourism trends — stylish villas, attractive locations and concepts that work well for rental income. It gave me a much clearer overview of what kind of properties exist and what the investment landscape looks like in Bali. Of course, before buying anything you should still do deeper research and talk to professionals, but as a starting point for exploring the market it’s definitely one of the more informative sites I found.
