Hi all,

I’ve been thinking a lot about the aircraft spare parts challenge lately. It’s not just about stock levels sometimes the “rare” component seems impossible to source, and lead times can ground a plane for days. How do you anticipate which spares will be needed before they’re critical?

Do you use predictive tools, strategic partnerships, or creative workarounds? I’m curious how different airlines and MROs tackle this balance between cost, availability, and operational risk. Any unconventional strategies, lessons learned, or tech hacks that actually work would be fascinating to hear.

Looking forward to your insights!

Hi,

You’ve raised some really important points. In my experience, tackling aircraft spare parts challenges requires a mix of data-driven forecasting and strategic relationships. Predictive analytics can help identify components with high failure probability or long lead times, allowing you to stock critical parts proactively. Many airlines also rely on Aircraft Spare consignment agreements with OEMs or trusted suppliers, so parts are available without tying up too much capital.

Another strategy is cross-utilization of parts across fleets and maintaining a small buffer for “rare” components. On the tech side, integrated inventory management software with real-time tracking has saved us from unexpected AOG situations more than once.

Would love to hear how others combine these methods!
